MUNICH, Germany In the first nine months of the year, Silicon Sensor raised sales and profit in the double-digit percentage range. The company announced to continue its growth.
The Berlin based company that focuses on customer-specific sensors and hybrid products reports a sales volume of 27.5 million (about $40.5 million), 13 percent higher than in the same period last year. Net profit climbed 75 percent to 2.23 million.
In the third quarter however, sales declined 1 percent in comparison the second quarter; the operative profit even declined by 5 percent while net profit still rose by 88 percent. Not included in the figures is a major automotive order the company has received in October.
Despite the slowdown in Q3, the management expects the overall growth to continue for the foreseeable future. The company is presently in the process of enhancing its production facilities by erecting a 6-inch wafer fab which is scheduled to launch production in 2H2008.
