PARIS – eDevice SA, French provider of complete M2M solutions, and Shanghai Simcon Wireless Solutions Ltd, supplier of wireless communication module solutions, announced a collaboration agreement to develop GSM/GPRS modules with AT# Internet interface.
Resulting from their collaborative work, eDevice (Merignac, France) and Simcon Wireless (Shanghai, China) said they are introducing a Quad-band GSM/GPRS module that is claimed to natively offer AT# commands so that OEMs can integrate TCP/IP enabled wireless connectivity. In other words, eDevice’s packaged TCP/IP solution, including integrated email (POP3 / SMTP), FTP clients and TCP & UDP sockets, is available in SIM305 and SIM345 modules manufactured by Simcon Wireless.
By integrating TCP/IP technology in M2M applications, the two companies explained that communication and development costs can be reduced while maintaining the benefits of using standard non-proprietary tools.
eDevice said its AT# Internet Plug-In is a TCP/IP stack that gives direct access to standard Internet Applications such as mail and FTP. The TCP/IP stack does not require external programming or drivers.
