Hello,

Your Ziegler -Nichaels formula seems different from the one in an article on wikipedia.org. Can you please cite your source? Thank you so much!
Ziegler–Nichols method
Control TypeK_pK_iK_d
P 0.50{K_u} - -
PI 0.45{K_u} 1.2{K_p}/P_u -
PID 0.60{K_u} 2{K_p}/P_u {K_p}{P_u}/8

A free PID simulator and easily digested PID tutorial are available at http://splatco.com/skb/2639.htm. This includes an Excel-based method of characterizing your system, and is used by a number of educators. David Stonier-Gibson http://splatco.com
