In many ways, the factors influencing the choice of an LED power supply (or in lighting parlance, LED driver) are similar to those behind any other power supply purchasing decision, involving a mix of basic and application-specific considerations. Given the inherent longevity of LED technology, the most important power supply criteria are reliability and lifetime.
After making an initial selection and reviewing their choices to see how well they suit the intended lighting application, buyers should also take a careful look at the power supply manufacturer’s design and product support capabilities.
