Over a recent three day period, EE Times (Munro & Associates) took apart a Chevy Volt enhanced range vehicle as part of its Avnet-sponsored Drive for Innovation to find out more about the engineering that went into its design and the technology and systems involved. A write up on what was learned will be published next month in EDN and Automotive Designline--but before then you can see the team in action and learn their first impressions in this series of videos shot over the three-day teardown. Three different reports on the teardown will be presented in the Expo Floor Theatre at DESIGN West.
(You can also checkout a previous teardown we did of a Toyota Prius.)
Unlike the US and other western countries, Indian customers don't have much fascination of electric cars. Honda civic hybrid and toyota prius bombed at the market selling less than 100 units. I believe US should help indian government to create necessary infrastructure for electric cars to cool down the soaring oil prices globally as well
Chevrolet bear is one of my favorite car models in small cars. Chevrolet has good designs for its cars. Chevy's Volt and Cruze both are also a good models for their features and performance.
