NO RATINGS
This article has some seriously dated information and omissions in it. First off you no longer have to decide between CDMA and GSM, there are GOBI radio modems available that can do both on one device (it is now a business decision)! Tip #7 states that the big carriers dont support M2M well, which is way off the mark... Vodafone and Verizon Wireless both have extensive support (really amazing)of M2M. Missing from this article are topics of matching/limiting rate plans to various worldwide carriers (to avoid unwelcome billing surprises) and web based API controls for commissioning/decommissioning devices on the networks.

We talk with Patterson and one of his colleagues behind the effort about the opportunities they see, what new kinds of designs they hope to enable and what it means for today’s commercial processor giants such as Intel, ARM and Imagination Technologies.
