This really looks interesting. This will open a new place to apply wireless connectivity solutions. This would sell a big amount of wi-fi chips. Good time to be in that field. I suppose a lot of studies have to be done and some intelligence in decision making will have to be added to the vehicles so that they can take control real time locally and not depend on networks latencies. Use cases must be created for different scenarios. Two cars in a corner, two cars blinded by a 3rd one, etc. And for each scenario, an action should be devised. If enough decision making and safety be desired this would perhaps a new main Control unit in the car. Come to think of it, this wouldn’t only raise sales for Wi-Fi chips but for strong microcontrollers. This is a next step for ubiquitous computing.
