Are you using counterfeit in the sense of selling a counterfeit Rolex watch or not? Please do not confuse the usage of the word counterfeit, it means an illegal copy. Lets keep it that way. Use look-alike or clone to refer to a competitor's attempt to build something equivalent like margarine is to butter.
