NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. Aromat Corp. has broadened its LA Slim Power relay series with two models that it says resist surge rates of 10,000 V minimum. The NAiS-brand products target power-switching applications in such audio/visual equipment as televisions, monitors, vending machines and home appliances.
The relays measure 24 mm (0.945 inch) x 12 mm (0.472 inch) and stand 25 mm (0.984 inch) high. Available in a 2 Form A slim configuration, they conform to UL/CSA, SEMKO and TUV safety standards; VDE approval is pending.
One of the relays has a nominal switching capacity of 5 A, 277 Vac and is TV-3-rated. It has been optimized for high inrush protection when power is turned on and off. The other device, with a nominal switching capacity of 3 A, 125 Vac, features contact reliability and break performance.
Both types are available in coil voltages from 4.5 to 24 Vdc. The creepage distance and clearances between contact and coil are 6 mm (0.236 inch) minimum, compliant with the IEC65 standard.
The LA relays offer 1,000-megohm initial insulation resistance (at 500 Vdc) and a 20-cpm maximum operating speed. The initial breakdown voltage is 1,000 Vrms between open contacts and 4,000 Vrms between contact and coil (for 1 minute).
The piece price is 86 cents in quantities of 1,000.
