SAN JOSE, Calif. Pericom Semiconductor Corp. has launched a line of low-voltage CMOS logic that it says can handle high drive currents. The bus-oriented ALVTC line offers both I/O-tolerant and bus hold-a combination that, according to Pericom, has previously been available only in BiCMOS products.
ALVTC family members can operate at 3.3, 2.5 and 1.8 V for a seamless upgrade to future low-voltage designs, said David Duncan, product manager. He added that the ALVTC line is a low-power alternative to BiCMOS LVT and ATVT products. It is the first low-voltage CMOS family guaranteed to provide drive currents of plus/minus18 mA, propagation delays of less than 3.0 ns at 2.5 V and an Idd of less than 40 microamps. BiCMOS products have propagation delays of less than 3.5 ns at 2.5 V and an Icc of 2.5 mA typical.
The parts are priced at $2.20 in quantities of 1,000 units.
