TAUNTON, Mass. Astrodyne has released three power products that cut across the spectrum from low-power dc/dc converters to high-power switchers.
The SIP- and DIP-packaged CostCutter dc/dc converters cover 0.75- to 3-W output. They provide single and dual outputs from 5 to 15 Vdc for a 5- to 72-Vdc input range over 50 models. The CostCutters offer 500- to 1,000-V input-to-output isolation and will operate over the ambient temperature range of -25 degrees C to 71 degrees C without forced cooling or output power derating. All models contain short-circuit protection and an internal input filter, eliminating the need for external components. They are fully encapsulated. Prices start at $8 each in OEM quantities. Delivery is stock to four weeks.
The company's series of OFM 5- to 15-W switchers are universal units available in 12 models that provide single outputs from 5 to 24 Vdc. They are pinout- and size-compatible to more costly encapsulated models, Astrodyne said. They feature an integral power-good LED indicator and output adjustment potentiometer and will operate over the ambient temperature range of 0 degrees C to 45 degrees C without forced cooling or output power derating. All models contain overvoltage and short-circuit protection and an internal input filter. They are designed for pc-board plug-in mounting.
Prices start at $17 in OEM quantities, with delivery of stock to two weeks.
At the high-power level, the company's A series provides output power over the range of 25 to 500 W. The universal-input devices provide single, dual and triple outputs from 5 to 48 Vdc in 35 models. All feature soft-start circuitry and integral EMI filtering, along with a power-good LED indicator, output-adjust potentiometer, and overvoltage and short-circuit protection.
The supplies will operate over -10 degrees C to 60 degrees C without forced cooling or output power derating. All models feature screw-terminal input/output connections. Prices run from $25 each (25-W version) to $149 (500 W) .
