SAN DIEGO Elgar Corp.'s TrueWave Series of programmable power sources, rated at 1,750, 3,500 and 5,250 VA, address product-development and manufacturing requirements for worldwide ac waveform simulation.
The programmable units feature an easy-to-use front panel and what the company calls a highly accurate, fast DSP measurement system for testing a variety of equipment. Applications include automatic test gear, ac and dc avionics testing (all models include preprogrammed MIL-STD-704 waveform sequences), dc/dc converters and uninterruptible power supplies, ac ballast testing and test environments that require field-configurable parallel operation.
In a compact 5U rack-mount configuration, the TW Series has one of the highest power densities of any polyphase ac source in its class, according to Elgar. Output frequency range is 45 to 500 Hz, ac output voltage is 0 to 156 VRMS and 0 to 312 VRMS. Dc voltages go from 0 to 233 V in the low range to 0 to 445 V in the high range. Remote programming is done via an SCPI-based, IEEE-488.2 or RS-232 bus. The DSP system measures RMS voltage and current, peak inrush current, crest and power factor, real and apparent power, and phase angle and frequency.
The TW Series complies with EN61000-2/-3AC source requirements for harmonic and flicker testing. Pricing starts at $7,785.
