CARROLLTON, TEXAS Optek Technology Inc.'s OP793 and OP798 silicon npn phototransistors integrate base-emitter resistors that are said to enhance the transistors' low-current roll-off characteristic, letting them ignore low-level ambient lighting while providing sharp turn-on characteristics in low-contrast applications. The OP793 has a wide, 130 degrees acceptance angle; the OP798 has a narrow, 25 degrees acceptance angle.
A plastic TO-18 package is used for both devices. Collector-emitter voltage is 30 V. Emitter reverse current is 10 mA. Continuous collector current is 50 mA. Storage and operating temperature ranges from -40 degrees C to 100 degrees C.
Pricing is 60 cents each in 1,000-piece quantities.
