SUNNYVALE, CALIF. "SuperMicro" dc/dc converters from RO Associates are said to incorporate the power of "three-quarter brick" devices into industry-standard half-brick packages (measuring 2.28 x 2.4 x 0.5 inches).
RO's Su48-5-150 is a form/ fit/function replacement for industry-standard 48-volt input, -5-V output, 150-watt half-brick modules. Its Su48-5-200 provides one-third more power (200 W) in the same package. Prices in 100-piece quantities are $123.75 for the Su48-5-150 and $145 for the Su48-5-200.
The converters operate at full power over a baseplate temperature range of -40 degrees to 100 degrees C and achieve up to 72 W per cubic inch high-power density. The converters feature remote sense, positive and negative on/off logic, clamp overvoltage protection, standard threaded mounting holes, a trim range of -40 to +10 percent and 105 degrees C overtemperature shutdown protection.
