MISSION VIEJO, CALIF. Dynatem has introduced a 3U VMEbus CPU board based on a 250-MHz Motorola MPC8240 "Kahlua" microprocessor, which vice president Mike Horan said provides the "best power dissipation/performance ratio" available in the PowerPC family.
The Model CU 824 sports an interboard PCI interface that allows a 6U or dual-slot 3U version to be configured with one PMC site or two PC-MIP sites for I/O expansion. The board contains 32 or 64 Mbytes of 100-MHz, 64-bit-wide synchronous DRAM, plus 8 or 16 Mbytes of 64-bit, burst flash memory. It has two serial ports, a real-time clock, watchdog timer and hardware monitor for temperature and voltage. Options include 512 kbytes or 2 Mbytes of SRAM and 10/100 Base T Ethernet.
The starting price tag is $1,763, with delivery four weeks ARO. Support for VxWorks, pSOS+ and OS-9 is available, as are extended temperature range versions (-40 degrees C to 85 degrees C).
