BRIDGEWATER, N.J. Hamamatsu Corp. has introduced the S6428-01, S6429-01 and S6430-01 silicon photodiodes, which feature a typical high-speed response of 0.5 microsecond. The monochromatic color sensors are suited for color-recognition applications and for use in color copiers, optical switches, bar-code readers and sensors for red laser diodes or LEDs.
The S6428-01 blue sensor has a photosensitivity of 0.22 amp per watt typical, with a spectral response range of 400 to 540 nanometers. The green S6429-01 is typically 0.27 A/W and covers the spectral response range of 480 to 600 nm. Specifications for the S6430-01 red sensor include
a 0.45-A/W photosensitivity and a 590-nm to 720-nm spectral response range.
All three photodiodes have a low dark current of 5 pA and terminal capacitance of 200 pF (VR=0, V, f=10 kHz). They come in a 6 x 8-mm package and are insensitive to infrared light. Maximum reverse voltage is 10 V; operating temperature is -10 degrees C to +60 degrees C.
