DALLAS Men Micro Inc. calls its latest CompactPCI CPU board the F1. It combines an MPC8240 PowerPC CPU with I/O flexibility and industrial-strength operating characteristics.
The board's flexible I/O comes courtesy of two PC-MIP sites. On-board I/O includes dual serial, IDE, USB, mouse, keyboard and monitor ports. It handles up to 128 Mbytes of SDRAM and 100 Mbytes+ of CompactFlash.
Several watchdogs for temperature, voltage and timeouts are provided on board. "The F1 is capable of functioning in a harsh industrial environment that might include an extended temperature range, shock, vibration, high humidity or corrosive chemicals," said president Ernest Godsey.
Pricing on the F1 starts at $700. Support for VWorks is available.
