PALM BAY, FLA. Intersil Corp. is offering a family of subscriber line interface circuits (SLICs) with 50-mW active power consumption for central-office, pair-gain and loop carrier universal voice-grade designs.
Product-marketing manager Chris Ludeman said the 10 parts in the UniSLIC14 family share a common package footprint (small-outline IC and plastic leadless chip carrier) that allows designers to reduce cost and design time by implementing a universal platform across multiple switching systems.
Low-power operation is achieved by using two batteries with automatic switching and a battery-tracking saturation guard that ensures maximum loop coverage on the lowest battery voltage.
Pricing ranges from $3.31 to $5.07 in quantities of 10,000.
