HUDSON, MASS. Hypertronics Corp. has coaxial and power contacts that fit the standard DIN 41612 cavities used on CompactPCI, VME6 backplane and daughtercard connector systems such as Futurebus, HDM and 2mmHM. The contacts offer an upgrade path for systems that need to handle high data rates or power.
The products' Hypertac hyperboloid contact system is said to provide low contact resistance over life, low insertion force and 25-A current ratings. Immunity to shock and vibration is said to exceed military specs. Coaxial contacts are dc to 6 GHz, 50 ohms, with SWR of 1.25:1 max to 3 GHz after 25,000 cycles.
Power and coaxial contacts provide over 25,000 mating cycles for such applications as PC card test and burn-in.
The contacts come in nine, 15, 25, 37 and 50 positions for signal and three, five and eight positions for power (up to 25 A). Pricing in volume is $6 per mated line for power and under $14 per mated line for coaxial contacts. Delivery is six weeks.
