JERSEY CITY, N.J. Bel Fuse Inc. has added the Bel S560-6600-40 isolation transformer to its roster of multistandard-compliant surface-mount transformers for ISDN or G.Lite and ADSL-over-POTS applications.
Engineered to optimize the performance of Alcatel's DynaMiTe MTK-20131, 20140 and 20150 chip sets, the device is said to help those ICs achieve data rates of up to 8 Mbits/second downstream and 1 Mbit/s upstream over 26 AWG wiring. The transformer is also said to optimize the chip sets' facility to decrease power consumption and board size.
Designed for customer premises equipment, the S560-6600-40 is widely specified for use in external modems and adapter cards in desktop PCs and in a broad range of applications where high-speed data transmission and faster Internet access over POTS (plain old telephone service) cabling is required.
The device is said to provide strong total harmonic distortion characteristics. It supports the maximum asymmetric digital subscriber line data rates and the maximum distance required of the system, and matches the Alcatel chip sets' 1:1 turns-ratio specification.
Operating temperature range is -40 degrees C to 85 degrees C. The S560-6600-40 meets UL 1950 supplementary insulation requirements for working voltages up to 250 Vrms. The device is provided in a 10-pin, EP-13 surface-mount, low-profile package measuring 0.54 x 0.585 x 0.5 inch. An eight-pin, EP-10 version is also available.
Pricing starts at $1.95 each in 10,000-piece quantities. Delivery is stock to four weeks.
