NORWALK, CONN. Vectron International has introduced a family of low-profile, high-stability, surface-mount temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs) available at frequencies from 2 MHz to 52 MHz.
The model TO-700 TCXO incorporates an ASIC-based temperature-compensation method and uses a sealed crystal design to provide what are said to be strong temperature stabilities and low aging rates in a small surface-mount package.
The oscillators can achieve an aging rate of less than 1 ppm/year with stability to plus/minus 1 ppm at -40 degrees C to 85 degrees C. The units are available in packages as small as 13.95 x 9.25 x 6-mm high (0.55 x 0.36 x 0.24 inch) depending on the type of output and board mounting required. Available outputs are Sinewave and HCMOS, requiring a supply voltage of 5 Vdc, and LVHCMOS, requiring a supply voltage of 3.3 Vdc.
The TO-700 TCXO is suited for communications applications including ISDN, ATM, Sonet/SDH, GSM, CDMA, mobile radio and network systems. Pricing is under $50 each in 1,000-piece quantities. Delivery is 12 to 16 weeks ARO.
