CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. The Mercury RMF Series hot-swap rectifiers for telecom applications from Unipower Telecom provide up to 60 amps at 27.2 Vdc or 30 amps at 54.4 Vdc from a 1U-high 23-inch shelf.
The shelf holds up to four hot-swappable modules, each producing up to 15 amps. A 19-inch shelf is also available to hold three rectifiers. Each module has an output OR-ing diode for hot-swap replacement and is self-cooled by two fans. Output can be adjusted over 22 to 29 or 44 to 58 Vdc by means of a front-panel potentiometer.
These universal-input modules, which have power factor correction that achieves less than 5 percent total harmonic distortion of the input current, have an efficiency of 86 percent. A Class B EMI input filter is standard.
Other features include overvoltage and overtemperature protection and remote sensing. Interface control and monitoring signals include ac-power fail, dc-power good, remote-output adjust and inhibit.
The modules have single-wire, active load sharing to equalize output currents. Rectifier shelves can be paralleled for increased output current. The Mercury RMF Series modules are priced as low as $417 each; the three-position 1U shelf is as low as $413 and the four-position, 1U shelf is $455. Delivery is 4 to 6 weeks.
