SANTA CLARA, CALIF. Integrated Device Technology Inc. has added 133-MHz devices to its SuperSync II line of x36 first-in/first-out (FIFO) memories, enabling higher bandwidth and data throughput for Gigabit Ethernet switches, terabit routers and the like. The company already has x9 and x18 devices at the 133-MHz speed. Its x36 FIFOs range in density from 16 kbits to 4 Mbits.
IDT's SuperSync II line now includes x9, x18, x36 and x72 devices, all in densities up to 4 Mbits. The FIFOs feature bus-matching capabilities for bridging between two systems operating at different data widths. Users can set input and output word sizes to and from the FIFO independently. In quantities of 10,000, prices range from $39.22 for a 1-k x 36 to $121.24 for a 128-k x 36.
