Sunnyvale, Calif. The first in a family of low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) line drivers from Maxim Integrated Products deliver output pulse skew of less than 250 ps and data rates of 500 Mbits/ second or more. The MAX9110 to MAX9113 are pin-compatible with the DS90LV017, 018, 027 and 028 from National Semiconductor.
They are available in eight-pin small-outline packages and eight-pin SOT23s that occupy less than 43 percent of the space of a SOP. The family includes the MAX9110 and MAX9112 single and dual transmitters and the MAX9111 and MAX9113 single and dual receivers. All operate from a single 3.3-volt supply and conform to EIA/TIA-644 LVDS standards. Power consumption is 31 mW for the dual-channel MAX9112, and all four have a 350-mV differential output voltage swing. In lots of 1,000, the MAX9110 and 9111 start at 81 cents and the 9112 and 9113 at $1.78.
