Austin, Texas Cirrus Logic Inc. has introduced a 9.7-mW audio analog-to-digital converter to complement its Crystal CS43L43 D/A converter and Cirrus' Maverick "market-specific processor," or system-on-chip.
The CS53L32A integrates an audio A/D converter with a microphone amplifier and a 2:1 input multiplexer in a 20-pin TSSOP that's said to be 75 percent smaller than earlier offerings. Dynamic range is 98 dB, total harmonic distortion plus noise is -88-dB and variable input gain is 12 dB (in 1-dB steps). The price is $3.30 in lots of 1,000 pieces.
