Burgaw, N.C. The spring clamp contact terminal blocks in Wieland Electric's 8520 series have a 3.5-mm contact pitch for dense wiring applications (up to 16 wires).
The connectors are available as one-piece solderable devices (for horizontal or vertical wire entry) or as pluggable connectors with straight pin strips that mount to the printed-circuit board. The parts are said to let circuit designers use push-in spring clamp technology directly on the board.
No-tool installation and fine contact pitch suit the connectors for applications that require multiple signal wires. Constructed of insulator material with a UL 94 V-0-rating, the 8520 series connectors are available in configurations from two to 16 poles and are rated for 125 volts and 4 amps. They accommodate solid conductor sizes from 24 to 20 AWG.
Each termination point features a built-in test contact point to ensure accurate readings during testing and troubleshooting.
Pricing for the 8520 series starts at 40 cents per mated point, depending on the quantity purchased.
