TALLMADGE, OHIO - The heavy-duty series of Atlas MaxTite threaded rivet nuts from Atlas Engineering Inc. feature a thicker head and heavier wall than standard rivet nuts for the most demanding high-load applications.
These rivet nuts are designed to provide strong, permanent metal threads in "blind" attachment applications, where only one side of a workpiece is accessible for fastener installation and final component assembly, the company said. The fasteners can serve as a practical alternative to tapped holes, weld nuts, rivets and self-drilling or tapping screws, according to Atlas.
Installed from the accessible "front" side of a workpiece, Atlas MaxTite rivet nuts can be utilized in panels as thin as 0.020 inches. Their use eliminates any need for additional hardware beyond a mating screw to complete final component assembly. Available types include flathead and countersunk (with the countersunk feature enabling the fastener to be installed flush with the surface of a sheet). Rib or key features are offered for high-torque applications. Pricing is as low as 7 cents.
