ENGLEWOOD, COLO. - Measuring a compact 5.7 x 2.9 x 1.6 inches, OnLine Power Supply's OPS-U-500-385 is said to be the only such unit that internally includes the EMI filter and hold-up capacitors. The power-factor-correction (PFC) front-end module delivers 500 watts at 385 volts dc at 97 percent efficiency from a universal 85- to 264-Vac input.
The unit weighs less than two pounds. It functions at full power over -40 degrees C to 85 degrees C, making it ideal for placement in outdoor equipment such as communications towers and cell sites, the company said. The module features overvoltage and thermal protection, and parallel operation. It is UL, CUL and TUV recognized and carries the CE mark.
"Our new power supply has the potential to change the industry," said Kris Budinger, OnLine Power Supply's president and chief executive officer. "So we are offering design engineers a challenge: Test one of our units for 30 days. We are confident that your results will match or exceed ours." The front-end module is priced at $253.41 in quantities from 1 to 999.
