Danbury, Conn. - Contact Systems Inc.'s C7 series single-beam surface-mount placement machines have a maximum placement rate of 13,000 chips per hour and the C7d dual-beam has a cph rate of 26,000. The C7 has five spindles, a configuration said to yield optimum throughput for high-mix assemblies. The system can place 0201 devices to 12-mil quad flat packs, and its Cognex-based vision system can scan surface-mount components and automatically create vision algorithms for them. The C7d has a small footprint but can hold 120 feeders.
