Warwick, R.I. - A CompactPCI injector/extractor handle from Pentair Electronic Packaging has been designed specifically for the high-density packaging needs of the telecommunications market.
The IET Schroff handle is .55 inch deep, almost two-thirds less than the standard 1.5-inch IEEE-1101.10 handles. For designers used to working with an enclosure depth of 12 feet, the low-profile handle reduces the amount of usable enclosure space taken up by handles from 12.5 to 4.5 percent, the company said, an 8 percent increase in usable space.
Pentair said the new handle also improves reliability in CompactPCI hot-swap applications, where handles are critical components because they actuate the microswitch and also control the insertion and extraction process.
The IET Schroff handle contains a recessed push button that operates the live-insertion microswitch. This mechanism functions independently of the handle ejection process, which prevents accidental triggering of the hot-swap microswitch.
Pricing starts at $3.39. Delivery is from stock.
