Irvine, calif. - Sabritec has launched a line of high-speed Fibre Channel connectors, contacts and cable assemblies intended for avionics and other systems that need rugged connections.
Fibre Channel transceivers can be driven either with fiber-optic signaling or true differential-pair twin-axial signaling, with 150-ohm impedance between conductors. Sabritec's line includes solutions for both applications, with expanded-beam fiber-optic contacts and cable assemblies for avionics applications as well as a series of differential-pair twin-axial connectors and cable assemblies for data-on-demand applications.
The connectors also provide electromagnetic-interference and lightning protection for avionics electronic systems enduring the harsh environments of military applications.
Differential-pair impedance and signal-to-shield characteristic impedance are maintained throughout the connector pair, the company said. A true twin-axial connector interface is said to ensure signal integrity, minimizing jitter and data rate errors that would otherwise degrade high-speed digital signals.
For standalone interconnect applications for a single differential-pair signal to a printed-circuit board, Sabritec offers a series of true differential-pair connectors. The board-to-board jumper connectors are available in quick-disconnect versions. Prices range from $200 to $500.
