San Diego - Pulse has launched a line of dual Gigabit Ethernet magnetic modules for networking applications. Designed for Category 5 cable, the modules are said to provide electrical isolation and low common-mode emissions in Ethernet switches.
The products comply with IEEE 802.3ab for Gigabit Ethernet deployment over copper wire. "They offer the functionality of two single-port devices in a single package, thereby reducing production costs and using 20 percent less board space," said Miguel Padilla, product line manager at Pulse.
The H5012 and H5014 are designed for 1:1 turns ratios applications and are approved for use with Broadcom's BCM5402 and 5404 transceivers. The modules' 48-pin SMT package is said to withstand industry-standard reflow temperatures. Current bulk-packaging options are 250 units per reel or 15 units per tube.
The H5012 is priced at $6.18 each for volumes of 10,000 or greater. The H5014 is priced at $5.88 per unit in the same volumes. OEM volume discounts are available.
