Sunnyvale, Calif. - Maxim Integrated Products is aiming its 14-bit (MAX1062) and 16-bit (MAX1162) serially interfaced A/D converters in 10-pin microMAX packages at low-power applications (5 mW at 100 ksamples/s) in portable equipment and industrial control. Parts link directly to SPI, QSPI and Microwire devices without extra interface logic, Maxim said.
Both run from a single 5-volt supply. A separate DVDD pin allows direct interfacing to 2.375- to 5-V digital logic. The devices can be shut down automatically between conversions, cutting operating current to 1 mA at 100 ksamples/s and supply current to less than 10 microamps at slower data rates. Prices start at $6.09 in quantities of 1,000 or more.
