Fremont, Calif. - Elma Electronic Inc.'s PICMG 2.16 backplanes and chassis are available in four-, six-, eight-, 16- and 21-slot designs.
Designed to fit within horizontal and vertical chassis, the new backplanes allow users to choose configurations in 2U, 4U, 6U, 9U, 10U and 12U heights. The company's eight-slot PICMG backplane, for example, fits within Elma's 4U horizontal chassis and its six-slot version fits within its 3U horizontal chassis.
All the new four-, six- and eight-slot versions have one fabric slot and one system slot. Remaining slots are used for CompactPCI nodes. The 21-slot product offers two fabric slots, 19 CPCI node slots and a system monitor card. Each of the backplanes incorporates a slot that can be converted from a node slot to a system slot.
The company is also offering a PICMG 2.16 development backplane, in a 16-slot configuration, that offers various combinations of CPCI and H.110, as well as CPSB links for prototyping.
Additional chassis features include flush-mounted 6U x 160-mm IEEE 1101.10 card cage, rear 6U x 80-mm IEEE 1101.11 card cage and an advanced shielding concept that is carried throughout the enclosures with all front panels and modules. The products are also shielded to meet stringent NEBS II/III, UL, CE and FCC requirements.
Prices for the PICMG chassis start at approximately $1,000, depending on configuration.
