Schaumburg, ILL. - Omron Electronics has beefed up its line of RF relays with the launching of four units for such applications as filter and duplex switching, antenna switching and amplifiers in wireless-infrastructure equipment.
The G6K-RF, G6Z, G6Y and G6W all boast small size and low power consumption. The company claims that three of them are among the smallest relays of their type on the market: The G6Z measures 9.5 x 8.6 x 20 mm; the G6W is 9.2 x 9.4 x 20 mm; and the G6K-RF is 5.4 x 6.9 x 10.3 mm.
The G6Z, G6Y and G6W offer power consumption of 200 milliwatts, while the G6K-RF is specified for 100 mW. In addition, each relay features good isolation characteristics. At 1 GHz, the isolation for the G6K-RF is 20 dB and the G6Y's is 60 dB. At 2.5 GHz, the isolation for the G6Z is 30 dB and for the G6W, it's 60 dB.
The G6Z's characteristic impedance allows it to work at both 50 ohms and 75 ohms, which provides versatility and ease of use for varying design needs, according to Omron. In addition, the G6Z and G6W feature both a "Y" and an "E" input/output arrangement that gives designers the ability to lay out a pc board without the need for extra tracings and patterns.
The G6K-RF, G6Z, G6Y and G6W are available from stock. Pricing for the G6Y and G6Z is $1.50 each in lots of 10,000 pieces. The G6K-RF is priced at $10 each for similar quantities, while the G6W is $50 each, also for 10,000 pieces.
