Phoenix - ON Semiconductor's NCP1410 and NCP1411 dc/dc converter chips for portable and wireless electronics feature open-drain low-battery detectors to help simplify power system design. The PWM-style, step-up monolithic converters deliver 1.5 to 5.5 volts and up to 250 milliamps.
These devices include synchronous rectifier circuitry that improves system efficiency up to 92 percent, the company said, eliminating external Schottky diodes and reducing overall board space.
Both come in a 3 x 5-mm Micro-8 package. The NCP1410 sells for 85 cents each and the NCP1411 for $1, both in quantities of 10,000.
