Tucson, Ariz. - C&D Technology has added a 1.2-volt eighth-brick to its WPA50 family of dc/dc converters, providing 50 watts to low-voltage ASIC- and DSP-based designs. The 400-kHz converters, working from a nominal 36- to 75-V input, are capable of operation to 100 degrees C without a heat sink. No minimum load is required.
Features include efficiency up to 91 percent and typical ripple and noise of 75 mV p-p. Mean time to failure is about 1 million hours. I/O isolation is 1.5 kV. The parts meet CISPR22, EN55022 and FCC15J Class B specs for EMI compliance with external filtering.
The converters are priced at less than $50 each in OEM quantities.
