San Marcos, Calif. - Sullins Electronics Corp.'s MBB make-before-break edge-card connectors target applications that need special contacts to avoid signal interruption during mating and unmating. Measuring 0.1 inch (2.54 mm), the contact centerline connectors are optimized for board-to-board applications.
The series comprises components in vertical mount, extender card and right-angle-bend configurations for daughtercards measuring 0.062 plus/minus 0.008 inch. Since contacts are mass-terminated when placed on the board, OEMs can speed time-to-market and cut throughput costs.
The UL-recognized dual-readout connectors target space-critical industrial, commercial and consumer applications requiring the circuit connection of a pc motherboard to daughtercards, such as in process control, security systems and computer peripherals. The edgecard connectors may be used in testing equipment since they come in high-temperature-tolerant materials that can withstand constant 125 degrees C heat.
Accommodating 0.100-inch C-C x 0.150-inch (2.54-mm x 3.81-mm) right-angle configurations and 0.100-inch C-C x 0.200-inch (2.54-mm x 5.08-mm) grid patterns, the MBB series accepts pc board thicknesses of 0.54 inch to 0.71 inch (1.37 mm to 1.80 mm). Connectors are standard in PBT or PPS insulator, with selective gold plating and with dip solder/wire wrap, 0.025-inch (0.635-mm) square terminals.
Additional specifications include an insulation resistance of 5,000 megohms minimum at 600 volts dc potential and a current rating of 3 amps. Devices may be ordered with contacts ranging from 2/4 to 50/100 (in single increments). Optional keying and customizing are available.
Prices for the MBB series start at less than $0.175 per contact pair in 100-piece lots. Delivery is one to two weeks.
