Carp, Ontario - Absopulse Electronics Ltd.'s LSI 1000 series sine wave inverter delivers 1 kVA continuous duty for driving ac appliances in rugged industrial, utility and telecom environments.
The microprocessor-controlled, pulse-width-modulation design provides 115 Vac at 8.7 amps continuous or 230 Vac at 4.3 A continuous at 50, 60 or 400 Hz from a nominal 24-, 36-, 48-, 125- or 250-Vdc input. Line regulation is within 0.5 percent, and load regulation is within plus/minus 2 percent from 10 percent load to full load. Total harmonic distortion at its output is less than 5 percent at full load. Efficiency is at least 78 percent at full load.
The LSI 1000 is fan-cooled and is rated for operation over 0 degrees C to 50 degrees C without derating, with -40 degrees C to 65 degrees C available as an option. Protection features at the input include inrush-current limiting, reverse-polarity protection and thermal protection (using a thermal fuse). Output protection includes current limiting, short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown with automatic recovery in case of continuous overload or insufficient airflow. Options include output fail alarm (Form C), adjustment for output voltage and frequency, isolated (floating) output and remote shutdown. A dual-input version is also available.
The unit, measuring 17.5 x 17.5 x 2.2 inches, meets C22.2 No. 107.1-01, UL458, EN60950 and EN55022 Class B standards. The LSI 1000 is priced at $998 each in quantities over 100.
