Santa Clara, Calif. - Incorporating NEC's Super Advanced Super Fine Technology (SA-SFT) with support for a high 1600 x 1200 resolution and a wide 170-degree viewing angle, NEC Electronics America delivers a new 21.3-inch UXGA TFT (Thin Film Transistor) color LCD module to industrial and medical markets. Sampling begins in November.
NEC LCD Technologies, Ltd., which developed the Super Fine Technology, has substantially improved panel transmissivity with its new SA-SFT technology, enabling reductions in power consumption, higher brightness levels and improved response times, said the company.
The NL160120BC27-02 UXGA TFT display achieves its high resolution through an ultra wide NTSC color gamut of 72%. It also delivers brightness of 250 cd/m2, a high 500:1 contrast ratio and includes a 10-bit internal look up table (LUT) for adjustment of gamma characteristics. A compact frame structure provides an 87.5% screen share.
"Our new 21.3-inch UXGA TFT LCD will provide users with a highly detailed, easy to read image viewable from nearly every angle," said Omid Milani, director, Displays Strategic Business Unit, NEC Electronics America in a statement.
Samples of the NL160120BC27-02 will be available in late November at a price of $1,450 per unit. Pricing and availability are subject to change.
