PC/104 Format DC/DC Power Supply Line Accepts Inputs from 9 Vdc to 75 Vdc
The new PS104 line of DC/DC power supply boards from Micro/sys fits into a PC/104 board stack and provides regulated power from a single unregulated DC input. This approach can result in fewer wires, offers less complex grounding, and allows smaller gauge wiring than centralized regulated power supplies. Three models are offered, depending on the nominal DC input.
The PS104-48 operates on 48 Vdc input for telecom applications, the PS104-24 operates on 24 Vdc for industrial applications, and the PS104-12 operates on 12 Vdc for vehicular applications.
The PS104 supplies incorporate benefits such as isolated grounds that reduce ground loops and oscillation in large systems, redundancy, battery back-up. The voltage is developed at the point of load, giving the system tight line/load regulation that allows the system designer to eliminate "nuisance reset problems" associated with CPUs and incorrectly designed power wiring. Additional benefits of the PS/104 supplies are their ultra-low noise design, indefinite/automatic recovery from a short, input/output protection, and filtering.
All PS104 modules provide 5 Vdc @ 6A. Models with a 'T' suffix also provide ±12 Vdc @ 250mA. By using male/female locking screw terminals for system wiring, the PS104 adds an easier and more reliable connection to the power supply, both on the benchtop and in final system applications. Additionally, these supplies operate in extended temp environments of -40°C to +85°C.
An AC/DC converter accessory is available that allows benchtop testing prior to final installations directly to an end application environment.
The PS104-12, PS104-24, and PS104-48 start at $195 in single quantity. Significant OEM discounts are available.
