Malvern, Pa. - A new series of compact, lead (Pb)-free electromagnetic interference suppression film capacitors from Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. combines a wide range of capacitance values with pitch sizes down to 7.5 mm.
The new Vishay BCcomponents 339 X2 series offers capacitance values ranging from 0.001 to 4.7 microfarads with tolerances rated at either +/-10% or +/-20%.
The devices have a rated voltage of 275 Vac at 50/60 Hz, with a maximum permissible dc voltage specified as 630 Vdc. Lead pitch for the capacitors ranges from 7.5 mm to 27.5 mm.
The company said the case sizes at many capacitance values are smaller than those of previously available devices, while the height of 339 X2 capacitors with values greater than 100 nanofarads is lowered by between 1 mm and 2 mm. As a result, the capacitors may be used in applications where board space is limited and mounting height is restricted.
The 339 X2 series have IEC 60384-14 (2nd edition) and EN 132400 approvals for X2 suppression which makes them suitable for filters, power supplies and mains applications.
The capacitors are constructed using a low inductive wound cell of metallized polypropylene film potted in a flame-retardant case made of material that is qualified in accordance with UL94V-O. The maximum operating temperature for the components is 105 degrees C.
The capacitors can be supplied loose in a box or taped in ammopack or reel format.
