Software called ProMetric v8.0, is the newest version of Radiant Imaging's software for display metrology.
Radiant Imaging claims that the software can help display developers make accurate and in-depth measurements. For example, a new 3-color calibration routine can improve the accuracy of luminance and illuminance measurements on RGB displays such as CRTs, LCDs, and LEDs.
Radiant says its ProMetric 8.0 can also permit calibration at an unlimited number of arbitrary colors (chromaticity measurement). This color calibration helps development of instrument panel displays that often contain a number of separate, colored elements, and may use a variety of light source types.
Display analysis is also helped by showing chromaticity data using standard CIE chromaticity diagrams, as well as offering color and luminance histograms.
The software also lets you define complex freeform measurement regions of interest, using mouse movements. This feature can be helpful for the analysis of instrument panels that might contain several individually illuminated components. These can now be isolated and separately analyzed and calibrated.
