Manchester, N. H. RCD Components Inc. unveiled a new family of ultra-precision thin-film chip resistors with tight absolute tolerance and temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) characteristics, making them a suitable and cost-effective replacement for bulk metal foil types.
Targeting applications that call for outstanding TCRs such as measurement and control for medical, industrial, communications, and portable electronics systems, the BLU series of thin-film chip resistors is available with tight tolerances to ±0.01%. The tightest TCR value is ±2 ppm/°C.
The new thin-film chip resistor series is available with resistance values from 4.7Ω to 4.7 MΩ. Working voltages range from 15 V to 200 V, and maximum DC power ratings range from 50 mW to 1W. Standard case sizes include 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, 2010, and 2512.
The series is available with several custom options including a pulse resistant design, matched sets, burn-in for high reliability applications, and lead-free terminations.
The company said the BLU-chip design features excellent stability levels; comparable with bulk metal foil technology and generates low noise (less than -40 dB), which makes them suitable for most high frequency and analog applications.
Pricing starts at less than $.25 for 5 PPM devices and less than $1.00 for 2 PPM devices, depending on a number of variables including quantity, size, tolerance and resistance. Samples are available. Delivery is six to eight weeks for production quantities of most styles.
