Miami, Fla. Raltron Electronics Corp. has launched its lead-free program to ensure compliance with the European Union Legislation and the published Restrictions On Hazardous Substances (RoHS) banning lead (Pb) after July 1, 2006.
Components already shipping lead-free include crystals (HC-49/U, HC-49/S, UM-1, UM-5 and all ceramic packaged), surface-mount ceramic packaged clock oscillators, surface-mount ceramic resonators, and all surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices.
Other assemblies that include tubular package crystals, 49SMD, leaded clock oscillators, crystal filters, VCOs, VCXOs, TCXOs, OCXOs and timing modules are also available in lead-free versions.
The goal of the program is to ensure that all components and assemblies are manufactured with lead-free components and materials, both internal and external, and that all surface-mount products withstand lead-free soldering processes using either conventional reflow or lead-free high temperature, said the company.
