Youngwood, Penna. - The Powerex A-Series of IGBT modules, for use in motor drives, UPS, welders, servo drives, fuel-cell inverters and MRI power supplies, are designed to match or exceed the performance of European rated modules (as per nameplate rating) in the same package size while offering superior thermal performance. These IGBTs use 5th generation carrier stored trench-gate bipolar transistor (CSTBT) technology, which offers lower losses than previous chip generations.
Each Powerex IGBTMOD module consists of an IGBT transistor (single configuration) or two transistors in a half-bridge configuration, with each transistor having a reverse connected super-fast recovery free-wheel diode. The 1200-volt single devices are rated from 400 to 600 amps, and the dual devices from 100 to 600 amps. All components and interconnects are isolated from the heat sinking baseplate, offering simplified system assembly and thermal management. The A-Series utilizes U-Series package technology, providing low inductance and low thermal impedance.
A-Series samples are available at prices ranging from $55 to $133, with lead time from stock to eight weeks.
