Milpitas, Calif. - Sipex Corporation's SP6132HV is the first member of the company's 28-volt DC/DC controller family, a synchronous step-down PWM chip suited to working from a 3.3- to 28-volt input for automotive, mobile phone base stations, marine equipment and 24-volt industrial systems.
The high-efficiency (94 percent) SP6132HV features a programmable output voltage down to 0.8 volt and maintains 1.5 percent accuracy over a wide range of input line, output load, and temperature conditions. Internal 2-amp output stages provide sufficient drive for external power MOSFETs delivering up to 30 amps.
Other features include 300 kHz operation, programmable soft-start, under-voltage lockout, short-circuit protection, and fast transient response. The SP6132HV, in an MSOP package, is rated for operation over the -40 to 85°C (industrial) temperature range. Pricing for the SP6132HV begins at $2.40 each in 1k quantities. Samples and evaluation boards are also available to assist in the evaluation of the devices.
