Plano, Texas - The first two quarter-brick products in Ericsson's PKM-E family, the PKM2510EPI and PKM4510EPI, deliver 3.3 volts at 15 amps from an 18-36 volt, and 36-75 volt input, respectively. Featuring lead (Pb)-free construction and a PC board with halogen-free flame retardant and electroless nickel immersion gold (ENIG) plating, the bricks are designed to meet anticipated environmental legislation associated with the EU RoHS directive.
These synchronous-rectifier, open-frame modules feature an operating efficiency of 90 percent, monotonic rise at start-up, output-voltage adjust, and remote sensing. Input-to-output isolation is 1.5 kV. They're protected against over-voltage and over-temperature. They have an MTBF of 7 million hours (predicted) at 40°C. The PKM2510EPI and PKM4510EPI are priced at $29.73 each in 1k pieces.
The company will be launching additions to the PKM2000E and PKM4000E series throughout 2Q. The PKM-E family will comprise 1.2- to 15-volt units rated for an output of 50 watts or a maximum current of 20 amps.
