Durham, N.C. CMAC MicroTechnology has developed a new series of global positioning system (GPS) temperature compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs) that can be used with the recently launched Chinese Beidou (Twin Star) navigation satellites.
This new location-finding system is to be used over China for a wide range of applications including navigation in transportation, meteorology, petroleum production, forest fire prevention, disaster forecast, telecommunications and public security.
C-MAC's new family of Pluto GPS TCXOs features ultra-low frequency stability of 0.5 ppm over a wide operating temperature range of -40° C to 85°C. The Stratum 3 compliant devices provide a maximum stability of up to 0.28 ppm.
The TCXOs are available with a frequency range of 1 to 40 MHz in the 7 x 5-mm package and 1 to 80 MHz in the 14 x 9-mm package. The standard operating temperature range is -55°C to 105°C.
