Atlanta, Ga. Offering greater heat and shock tolerance than other glass-substrate surface-mount fuses, the WICKMANN FCD series of chip fuses feature a low internal DC resistance, which is critical in the protection of sensitive low voltage equipment. These new surface-mount fuses use low-cost metal film technology that exhibits stable and repeatable fusing characteristics.
Available in 0402, 0603, 0805 and 1206 EIA case sizes, the FCD family offers current ratings from 250 mA to 5 A with rated operating voltages of up to 50 Vdc. Terminations are plated with a tin/lead coating and are compatible with IR reflow installation processes.
The FCD fuses may be used in space-sensitive devices such as motherboards, hard drives, CD-ROM drives, PDAs, PC cards, cable modems and dc converters. They are designed for computer and peripheral applications where a quick acting overload device protects against catastrophic fault currents.
Shipped in blister tape-and-reel packages, the devices are priced at $0.12 each in OEM quantities.
